I had to feel on my skin once again that doing research and going to conferences can be quite disappointing
I did not mind too much since the environment where I presented my little poster is a very small environment, the conference was not even in english, but in german, which according to me already kills pretty much the whole meaning of the conference... research should be international, always, even when it's "local"
the result was that I was the only foreigner
me and one big professor, who presented in english ... (lol)
people showed interest only towards things which were directly connected with what they do, so of course, they did not show any interest in a work which doesn't even belong to that field.. ahah... assholes!
sad, but whateva, life goes on
Berlin indeed was full of surprises, even very good ones
I had an amazing time with A. and S., we ended up together in a show of a group called Anhela... if u happen to run into this band... give it a chance, they are not only talented, but impressive, and on the top of everything... they are incredibly funny
I went through the conference with S. making fun of all the people, hiding from our Professor, like kids do at school with their teachers
I escaped the last day of conference (since nobody was going... fuck it) and after going partying with A. in a very nice place called Club der Visionaere, we decided to pass by her place, pick up our bags, jump on a train and go with other people to the Baltic Sea... it was a crazy idea and as it always is in those cases... totally worth it
we had an unforgettable day on the beach, a painful sunburn and a lot of laughters
we also walked through Rostock and happened in a local little festival
when we got home we got rid of the sand and we ran to a sweet place, the first place I went to when I went for the first time to Berlin... An einen Sonntag im August
we had some wine and after that a hot dog
it hasn't been easy saying bye bye to these good days, but I do look forward for other good times to come
now it's back to reality for a couple of weeks, before getting interesting again for the next SPR
I do feel like having a little pit stop in Italy after that... because fireworks in Rapallo happen to be right after the conference in Switzerland =) we'll see..
well, wherever u happen to be I wish u the best fun and if u cross me somewhere, we will make the best out of it
